Corn hole...AKA...Bag-o

My  fabulously creative friend, Michelle, over at TenJune, and some other insanely amazing bloggers, Sherry, Katie, and Kate, have presented....

WOW! What a great thought...to actually create an idea on Pinterest!

Bravo for the motivation ladies!

My dear cousin, Brayton, and a few of her friends had the brilliant idea of making a corn hole set for a friend's 21st birthday gift...I know!  What great friends are they...and what a thoughtful gift!

There are tons and tons of corn hole sets on Pinterest...here are some of my favorites:

SO, the materials we gathered:

The instructions were read:

And the construction began:

Once the corn hole sets were built the real fun began!
We sanded them and got to painting...

The background could be nothing other than chevron!
Which...by the way...looks a lot easier on paper than in reality...here is the best way to do it...
A sophisticated and chic color pallet of gray, white and sky blue were chosen:

The monogram was created on the computer and then stenciled onto the boards.

This project seemed super hard, but it was pretty simple...and cheap! The entire project cost about $50...plus some good old fashioned sweat equity!

Now all that is left to do is play!...and make another one for myself :)

  1. I love this!! The men always think cornhole is their game - but this makes it feminine for the ladies! Might intimidate the boys enough to really beat them!

  2. This is so lovely! I heart the grey chevron for sure. This post is perfect timing because I am thinking of making a few boards for a wedding reception I am putting together for my friend. There are lots of kids invited and I thought this might be fun... for all! But definitely something the kids will want to do. :) Thanks for sharing!

    1. Kids love this! You could also make a set on a smaller scale "kid sized." They may think that was special to have one just for them :)

  5. I once helped a friend make a gameday cornhole set and was thinking of making some of my own. I love your idea! The chevron pattern and the monogram is too cute! Even better than the original!
